Thanks to a facebook referral from a family member, Danielle G. was introduced to Social Sabby the evening before we hosted our annual Autism Integration Day in April of this year at Francis T. Maloney High School in Meriden, CT. We were thrilled at how quickly we were able to make an impact on her son Ronan, after a single interaction through the days activities, Ronan began expressing interest to attend more of our events, at the ripe age of just 3 years old.
Danielle recalls her experience and shares her story:
Danielle G. and her son Ronan
“Social Sabby will immediately make you feel comfortable with whatever you bring to the table. Do not come in embarrassed or ashamed on your journey thus far. Instead, smile that you found an incredible next step in helping your child understand their world a little better. The life skills offered for all ages can only benefit your child’s progress. We, for one, are incredibly grateful to have found a fantastic group of people who genuinely want to help our children succeed.

The patience Kevin, Lorraine, and the peer mentors gave Ronan allowed him to feel comfortable to be unapologetically himself as he acclimated to his new surroundings. Because of their ability to let him come around at his own pace, while still being encouraging and supportive, he emerged as the happy kid who wants to learn that we, as his parents, already know and love! We saw an increase in Ronan’s desire to participate in group activities. We also saw an ability to bounce back from overwhelming situations quicker than in the past.
[After] a little under 40 hours, [this has been] life changing! This literally prepped us for a new preschool. Ronan had some similar challenges, in terms of separation anxiety, the following week at school and camp gave him some extra confidence to power through for the greater good.
It also gave mom and dad the reassurance that he’d be ok! We are a better equipped family with the support Social Sabby offered us.
They are knowledgeable on our autism specific challenges and are patient in executing a plan that works individually for the child’s success within the program. We can’t wait for more experiences with them!
[They had] unwavering patience. They never once doubted our concerns or 20,000 questions. We felt validated! That is huge! Get involved early! Get involved often! Trust these wonderful people!”

When we asked Danielle how Ronan would describe Social Sabby, she replied “Have fun at camp?!? Mr. Kevin! Miss Lorray! Soccer bowling! Outside! The big gym! Played Duck Duck Splash! All exclamations of glee!”.
We couldn’t be happier to have met Ronan and his wonderful family this year, and we look forward to a long lasting relationship with them in the years to come. Thank you for being a part of our Social Sabby community!
